AZ Sport Tape

My mom had been telling me how great kinesthetic tape is, so I jumped on my chance to try it. It is a breathable, flexible tape that you place on your body in certain areas to alleviate muscle fatigue and joint pain.
image
I watched the video on how to apply to my knees and attempted to recreate it. Not as easy as they make it. I think there is a learning curve. I went to work mowing the lawn and doing the other household chores. I kept the tape on overnight (it wears up to 5 days or so) and I actually did feel less sore than if I hadn't been wearing anything. I think the effects may increase should I feel confident of how I apply it. My boyfriend also used it on his knees while paintballing. He too noticed a decrease in pain the next day, although not as well as he does with his knee brace. The only thing I did notice was that on day 2, one of my knees started burning while I was doing dishes. I went in the bathroom to check it out and on one side, my leg had blisters where the tape ended. I assume I must have put it on wrong at first, because it only occurred in that one place.
image
It took a few days to heal. I will still be using again despite the problem that occured, because I do think it was my fault. I just wanted to let everyone know to watch the video on how to apply to whatever area a few times before actually doing it. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion, and I would recommend it with caution to fully pay attention when applying.

Bonafide Car Seat Cover Review

I saw this cover and knew I had to get it for my friend who is currently expecting a baby girl. When I received it, I got to open it up and noticed how durable it was. The top material is strong and in a chevron pattern. (I chose pink, but other colors are available.) The material underneath is a soft, velvety texture.

You can purchase- Bonafide Car Seat Covers

I love that the cover forms a tent and has Velcro tabs that attach to the seat's handle. You can keep baby warm, shaded, or bug free while keeping it off his/her face.
And as a bonus, they include this large carabiner. It serves a variety of uses including helping to steady a car seat while sitting on a shopping cart that doesn't quite fit, or to clip a diaper bag or purse to your stroller. You could also clip it to the handle to secure a favorite toy that might not be able to stay otherwise. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion, and I'm very happy with the quality. Can't wait for the mommy to get to use it! October, I'm looking forward to you for more than just Halloween this year!

Terry Treetop Saves the Dolphin Review

We got to read Terry Treetop Saves the Dolphin.  This book is one of many in a series featuring young Terry Treetop, so named because he likes to climb. In this book, Terry finds a group of dolphins during a family vacation, and decides to get a closer look. A baby dolphin that is equally curious tries to get closer to Terry and finds himself trapped in a fisherman's net. Terry realizes he must help this baby dolphin and soon finds a ranger to assist in the rescue. The baby dolphin is soon freed and the ranger helps Terry to play with him in the water.

I like the fact that there is science distributed in the book in little bits. About a mother dolphin helping a baby breathe by lifting him to the surface and about dolphins being marine mammals with incredible breathe capacity. And the imagery is beautiful.

What I don't care for is the main character. He is like a cross between Dora the Explorer and Calliou. And I hate Calliou. Vehemently. However, kids love him, and as they are the main target audience, I surmise they would in turn, like this book. My daughter thought it was ok, but wasn't overly interested like other books that we've read.

Morning Magic by Giles Smith review

I was approved to read and review Morning Magic in exchange for my unbiased opinion. Instead of sending us a Kindle version, they sent us an actual, honest to goodness book for us to hold in our hands. I can't tell you how much that means, and what a lost feeling it is to hold a fresh book and flip through pages with that new book smell. So thank you so much for that!
The book itself is a cute first story in a series about a witch - in - training getting ready for school.

When I first started reading, my daughter was in in a foul mood. She wanted to go play and I told her her we needed to read this first. She huffed and puffed and said she didn't like it. By the fifth page her smile had been trying suppress a giggle as the toad-ally luv_a_bul (see what I did there?) pet frog Paul was panting and sweating. She finally emitted a squeal of glee when Paul ended up being covered in underwear. Because really, how could you not laugh at that?

The story contains a large amount of sight words for ages five to seven, making it easy for them to join in, and the rhyming nature of the book gives it a fun rhythm. I love the message of "keep trying" in the story. Emily must keep her wits about her and try again, as her spells don't exactly turn out how they are supposed to. I also love a good magic story. We love Harry Potter and my fiancĂ© loves the Lord of the Rings and all that. This story is perfect for your little geek in training. I can't wait to read the other books in the series!

You can purchase yours here if you think you'll love it just as much!

Get Childish Kite

We got to play with this wonderful kite from "Amazing Products for Everyone. " The first thing I noticed is that it isn't your cheap, plastic kite. It's durable. It is made out of material that reminds me of gym class as a kid when you all stood in a circle, hands holding onto a big circle tarp and flapping it wildly up and down. No? Anyone else do that? That material. So this product is definitely nostalgic.

It was very easy to use and comes with a handy carrying case for it. Two poles (resin, not plastic) that fit securely hold the kite's structure during play. We took it out and played at the park because we finally got a windy day to play! My daughter had a blast. She had never flown a kite before, but apparently she's seen it on TV and that's all you need to be a natural. (If you ever need to figure out how to work ANYTHING, just give it to your 5 year old to show you.)
Check them out on facebook.
You can purchase yours here- Get Childish Kite

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion, and would highly recommend purchasing! I don't think you'll be disappointed! Also, the material is Nylon, lol. I looked it up.

TaZa Drama Free Wine Glasses

I received these wine glasses and was so excited because I had literally just broken 2 wine glasses the past week. (From falling out of the dish strainer, calm down, I'm not a RAGING alcoholic) Anywho, when I unwrapped them, I was surprised at their weight. They actually feel like something you can hold. Not like drinking from a solo cup. And the clarity for a plastic glass is amazing. And let's talk about the plastic. BPA free, food grade, FDA approved plastic.

So obviously you can drink wine from these. But they come in handy for morning juice glasses. Also, we've made different desserts in them. The presentation is cute if you have company, or if you have kids- it's a great non messy alternative to a bowl.
We found this recipe for  Strawberry Dole Whip, and it was delish!
Strawberry Dole Whip on Pinterest
The only thing about this product that I didn't care for, was the finish on the rim. It was cut flat, instead of rounded, so it was a
slightly abrasive. But you don't notice after your first glass of wine.
You can buy yours Here- TaZa Wine Glasses Use code "no drama" to get 10% off!
All in all, I would recommend this product. The finish on the edge is something you'll get used to for the comfort of knowing there won't be broken glass on your floor or ice cream on your couch. I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

Emotional attachments to material items

I've been bawling all day. In the midst of baking today, my mixer officially broke. Which is stressful enough in its own right. However, this wasn't just a mixer. It has been my mixer for the past several years. Before that, it sat under a cover at my great grandmother's house, unused since a few years ago she passed away. But before that- it was used.

It was used when she made bread or rolls for Sunday. It was used when she made strawberry shortcake with berries I picked in the garden.  It was used when she made me chocolate chip cookies before we sat down to watch HeeHaw or the Grand Ole Opry. It was used when she taught me, at 5, how to make cookies for myself. It was used when I created my own recipe for cinnamon raisin bread. It was used to create my love of baking and further bond me to my grandmother. That mixer has over 20 years of memories ingrained for me, and I'm currently devastated. It's like losing her all over again. She didn't get to see how much I've done since then. What I've been able to accomplish with that mixer. With her mixer, I've been able to help people celebrate their new marriages. To welcome new babies. To celebrate life.
I'm glad her trusty Kitchenaid has lasted this long. I'm thankful for all the memories I was able to make with it. Including using it to bake with my own daughter. I just wasn't ready to let go. But then again, I don't think I ever would have been.  I don't think any of us are.
In the past two days, her mixer had made 120 cookies, 80+cupcakes, a 50th birthday cake, a 3 tier wedding cake, a sheet cake, and a 2 tier graduation cake. So as I end the day by making a cheesecake sandwiched between double layer red velvet with Oreo bottoms without its aid, I hope my grandma is still with me. That she knows I love her and that I couldn't have done it with out her.

Liquid Chalk Markers Bundle w/ Chalkboard Labels by Kitchen Supreme

We had so much fun with these. We love writing and leaving little notes for each other, and I am a major “list” maker. I even painted chalkboard paint in the doors of our kitchen cabinets to make lists for everyone to do each day. So when we got the chance to play with these Liquid Chalk Markers by Kitchen Supreme – I was all over that. My daughter was able to use several times already on our bathroom mirror to create little pictures.  They are really easy to clean off of glass and ceramic. (I’ve played with my coffee cups.) They do come with a set of labels you can use, I just haven’t been creative with where I’m going to stick them. I’m thinking of maybe checkmark system for behavior or WHINING. Ugh. Summer is just starting. The other great thing about these is that it is something that she can do while I’m doing dishes or vacuuming. Not an activity that requires you to be glueing something, or supervising scissors, and she is having a blast!
2015-06-01_14.24.12[1]
For adults, you can use these markers to get creative with your coffee, or use the labels as little “Honey love” lunch notes. They showed some really creative pictures done with these markers on their website. Now, I can’t actually draw, but my fiance will probably attempt to make something like that. (I walked into the bathroom yesterday and he had drawn my name in a script writing with the purple marker. Because he’s adorable.

Bluetooth 4.0 Hi-Fidelity Sports Headphones

Both myself and my daughter tried these out. I was surprised that they easily fit her too. They sit in the ear, but are less intrusive than the earbud style.
image
(Forgive the chocolate donut face)
The reception is very clear, and I was also surprised that they were definitely loud enough. The sync is very user friendly; you just hold down the power button until the light flashes blue, and then scan bluetooth from your phone or tablet. The only thing I didn’t like about these was that the cord was a little longer than I prefered and it kind of pulled on my ear when I turn my head side to side, due to my pony tail. But I got used to it after a little bit. We used them while cleaning the kitchen and living room this weekend, although my daughter did more dancing than cleaning… I did not test call quality on these, as the streaming music was wonderful. It has less range from the streaming device than the Silicone Devices Bluetooth Earphones, but I was still able to be 20 or so feet away without static. These were the more comfortable of the two, however. All in all I would recommend these as an everyday use earphone. You can get yours here-  Bluetooth 4.0 Hi-Fidelity Sports Headphones for only $29.99.
